Laser Focused!

“The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus.” – Bruce Lee

Such wise words that should inspire all of us! It has been argued that Bruce Lee is the greatest martial artist of all time. I would suggest at the minimum he was at least  the most influential.

His words are so true. We each have our own different struggles to deal with at times, but it’s a general truth we tend get what we focus on the hardest. It’s why I like to encourage people to always think and look for positives even when things might not be going as smooth as we would like them to be. It might take some practice, but it’s TOTALLY worth it.

Many people we know or here about have created tremendous wealth in spite of the meager beginnings: Jim Carrey was a dishwasher as he worked his way the ranks of stand-up before he got his big break. Among others you’ll fine Zuckerberg, Gates, Bezos, or  Elon Musk who can all talk about their humble beginnings as they worked out of their garages and for a while Musk was sleeping on a buddy’s coach as he was building Paypal.

None of them were particularly concerned about their surroundings as they were working on their businesses. They were common people with extraordinary ability to focus. Which is what we’re saying now, too!

Developing your expertise around your own passions will make it much easier to get focused and keep it that way when things get rough.

Are you having fun?

You should be! Of course there’s plenty of work to do and we need to keep at it if we’re going to reach our goals. But work doesn’t mean we can’t have fun! It’s actually important to a balanced life.

There are two kinds of fun, one real and the other is an imitation. Imitation fun is anything that distracts us from facing whatever issues we might have before us, like drinking too much or smoking, or playing too many video games. Pretty much anything that alters our perceptions of the world around us.

Real fun can be time spent with family and friends, working on a hobby, or learning something new. It helps us maintain perspective, be more productive, and breaks up routine. And the more we can figure out how to turn our expertise into our business, the more likely it is for us to have fun even when we’re working.

This why I like helping people develop their expertise and businesses around them. It helps us be more excited about what we do each day and the world seems to just flow smoother.

So go for it! Figure out what you most enjoy doing, expand upon your expertise, and have some fun!

Every Single Little Thing!

So I'm wrapping up another amazing start to a new week this Monday evening as it nears and the Pyeong Chang 2108 Olympic Winter Games are live on the tube! Now, I'm no snowboarder nor a huge fan, but how can you not watch and wonder what Shaun White is going to pull out of his bag of tricks next, right?

So this is still only qualifiers in the Half Pipe, his first run is just shy of amazing. And I'll be if he doesn't fall to 3rd before his second run with some strong competitors in the mix. Well, in pure legendary Shaun White style he crushes his 2nd run with a 98.5 !!! For those of you who don't follow the scoring system in the Olympics Half Pipe like me, all I figured out is it's a Gold Medal score and still hauling it out in a qualifying round.

I stopped my work long enough for his interview and his energy and enthusiasm, it's purely contagious, just incredible! As is yours and mine when we chose to make it!

But, I digress back to the point. Every Single Little Thing! Just watching and thinking of how many thousands of precise laser beam focused body movements and brain activity forced decisions, not only made but certainly executed before even realized is just flat out crazy!

And ya know, we all do the same thing every day. And as we simply always strive to increase our natural ability to push for greater results when EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING comes out with a higher level of precision, bingo! And it's simply because we are focused and driven to outperform and succeed in everything we do from simple daily routines to lofty and long-term goals... it as well is flat out crazy! In nothing but a great way, of course!

Always remember to keep it sharp... Every Single Little Thing!
